Living in a wealthy luxurious homes retirees still manage to receive money from medicare. They have plenty of money yet medicare still pays for quite a bit of their medical bills. The problem is that medicare is givivg out more money than it has to give and in this economic crisis it is getting tougher and tougher. The next generation people may not be able to have the same benefit as the generation before them if something isn't done.
I think first of all it is ridiculous the fact that the governments money is going to pay for a millionaires hospital bills. Medicare might not be able to help the people who really need it in the future because of this. But I dont think the retirees really know the effect of their ignorant actions, if someone were to tell them what is really happening things would be alot different.

Swine Flu 5/8/09
The recent Swine Flu outbreak has been in the headlines recently.
it origiated from mexico and now had become an international epidemic.It has even made onto American soil. Authorities in Egypt have ordered the slaughter of pigs on many farms, although you cannot contract it from a pig.People have become frightened and have stopped buying pork. Because of this it is now called h1n1.
I think the flu will eventually pass and things will be back to normal in a month or so. In America so far not one person has died and many have been cured. There isnt a reason that anyone should avoid eating or buying meat because it only goes from person to person. It seems now that it is under control and stable.

Osama Bin Laden video 5/1/09
The movie we watched was full of interesting facts about Osama's life. It talked about both his childhood and how he came to be one of the most powerful terrorists on the planet. Osama's fortune of money is what funds his army of terrorists or know as Al Quaeda. The people who followed him praise and love him and would sacrifice their own life in his name. AL Quaeda hates the U.S. with a passion because they don't believe that any american should step foot on Islamic territory and also the fact America supports Israel, an enemy of Islam. Osama will never stop fighting until the day he dies.
I think that finding Osama Bin Laden will be one big step further on the way of eliminating terrorism. He will never stop and the sooner we find him the safer we will be. Osama fills the Islam people with hate against America using propaganda. Which much of the propaganda is false and just away to increase hate.

Should the CIA be punished for breaking the law against torture 4/23/09
Obama is now decidng whether or not the CIA should be punished for torturing Guantanamo Bay prisoners. One prisoner claims he has been waterboarded 182 times. Other torture methods the CIA used also included slapping and depriving prisoners of sleep etc. The CIA defends themselves by saying that they were under order byPresident Bush.
What do you think is the appropriate way of handling this matter? Who is to blame eitherBush or the CIA for following them. It puts Obama in a tight spot because he want to put the CIA leaders in jail and neither does he want to let them get away with it. If you were Obama what decision would you make?

Pirates 4/16/09
Pirate attacks are happening more and more often. This past week an American ship had been taken hostage with the captain on board. Lucklily snipers were able to take down 3 our of the four pirates on board. If it wasn't for the lucky opportunity, the captain might not of survived or still kept hostage.
The pirates now say they wont be as merciful as they were in the past and will kill them instead of keeping them hostage. What do you think we should do in response to the attacks. Is it necessary to give the crew weapons to defend themselves? Or maybe we sould simply invade the countries on the coast of eastern Africa like we did Iraq and take out any terrorists.

what would you do? 4/9/09
On an episode of what would you do, they set up dates and switched one of the couples with another person. When they met their date it wasnt who they expected it to be. Most couples either walked away or acted aggrivated thinking that the person lied about their appearance online. But their was one man who actually tried to being a gentlemen and pretended they were having fun. He didnt care what his date looked like and thought he'd give it a try and the date actually came out to be good.
If I were in the same situation I would probably live up to my word and stay and finish the date. After that I doubt I would go on another date knowing that she lied about her appearance. If she lied about that, who knows how many other things she might lie about. I would like who had confidence in what she looks like and doesnt need to lie

Josef Frtizl's Punishment
Recently Josef Fritzl has been sentenced to life in prison for fathering children with his daughter. He kept her in his basement for 24 years and never let her see daylight. Josef Fritl lived in a town named Amstettan, a town in Austria where something so horrific is unheard of.
Do you think his punishment fits his crime? Or do you think it is too big of punishment for a man who claims he is mentally ill? If he is found mentally ill do you think he should be let off the hook?
